Table Tennis

Table Tennis is one of the quickest and most skilful sports with the leading
players needing explosive power combined with a delicate touch. Table Tennis is
now both a summer and winter sport at Sydney Boys High School. Forty students
participate in the program each term.
Facilities and Coaching
Table Tennis is played at St Michael’s Anglican Church Hall, Surry Hills. The
facility allows students to train on six tables simultaneously and provides easy
access from the school.
Students participating in the table tennis program at Sydney Boys High School
receive top level guidance from Peter Masen, a National Level 3 coach with elite
competition experience. Peter has won the NSW Table Tennis Men’s Open champion
multiple times and the Tasmanian Table Tennis Men’s Open champion multiple
times. He was coach and manager of the Australian team at the 2010 World Team
Cup Classic. Peter placed 5th in the men's singles at the 1977 Chinese National
Youth Championship.
