Position Overview

Sydney Boys High School is a school run by the NSW Department of Education. New South Wales Department of Education schools can only employ teachers who have received approval to teach from the NSW Department of Education.

Approval to teach often takes 5 weeks (or more) but will mean that you will be approved to teach in any State school in NSW.

In addition, are number of current certifications are required of all NSW public school teachers:

  • Working with Children Check
  • Anaphylaxis e-learning (APTSs)
  • e-Emergency Care (APTSs)
  • Child Protection Awareness Training
  • Mandatory Child Protection Training
  • Workplace Health & Safety Induction for Employees

  • Your name
  • Phone number(s)
  • Availability (eg all days or Mondays and Wednesdays etc)
  • Subjects you are approved to teach
  • Subjects you are willing to teach
  • Your Departmental approval number
  • Copies of all the required certifications listed above
  • Schools in which you have taught
