High AchieversThe High Achievers project had its genesis in the early 1990s when old boy George Lewkowitz first put forward a proposal for an old boys "Wall of Fame". In 2004, the proposals were again advanced by old boy Colin Sherwood. From 2006, thanks largely to old boys Joseph Waugh and William Clegg, the School's librarian Veronica Crothers, and principal, Dr Kim Jaggar, the green light has been given for this exciting and worthwhile project to go ahead. Over the last 14 years the names of many, many Sydney High old boys, who have attained high distinction in their post-school lives, have progressively been added to various lists, including recipients of Australian and Imperial honours, professors, judges, international sporting representatives, and members of various parliaments around the world. These lists will form the basis of the "High Achievers Wall of Fame" that will be incorporated into the Governors' Centre. The lists will continue to grow over the coming years and will serve as a tremendous inspiration for current, as well as future, Sydney Boys High School students to attain excellence of the highest order. The following lists of high achievers are by no means complete. Further names are always welcome. Please e-mail nominations to the Sydney High School Old Boys Union President for inclusion on the High Achievers Wall of Fame. |
